Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 25, 2026

Welcome to Racquet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Racquet mobile app, the Racquet website at racquetapp.net, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Racquet. If you are under 18, you may use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Your Account

  • OAuth-only sign-in. You access Racquet by signing in with Apple, Google, or Facebook. You are responsible for the security of the OAuth account you choose. We will never ask you for a password.
  • One account per person. Each Racquet account is bound to a single OAuth provider. Do not attempt to create multiple accounts to evade blocks, throttles, moderation actions, or platform rules.
  • Accurate information. The profile information you submit (name, photo, rating, location, sports, etc.) must be truthful. Misrepresenting your skill level to manipulate matching is a violation of these Terms.
  • Account security. Notify us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or to violate the rights of others.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, dox, impersonate, or send unwanted contact to any user.
  • Post content that is hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Solicit, scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect information about other users for purposes outside the Services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services, including by automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without our prior written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any part of the Services, except as permitted by law.
  • Use the Services to advertise unrelated commercial products or services, or to engage in commercial coaching, refereeing, or court booking outside the in-app coach directory.
  • Submit false match scores, manipulate brackets, or fabricate tournament results.

User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on Racquet (profile information, match posts, messages, photos, group and venue and coach listings, scores, etc.). By posting content, you grant Racquet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, to re-encode photos and strip EXIF), display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Services.

You are responsible for the content you submit. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our reasonable discretion, are harmful to the community.

Tournaments, Matches, and Scoring

  • Organizer responsibility. If you create or run a tournament or group event, you are responsible for setting fair rules, communicating with participants, and resolving disputes among participants.
  • Score confirmation. Match scores are submitted by one player and confirmed by the opponent. The submitter cannot confirm their own match. Once a match is confirmed, the bracket advances automatically.
  • No prizes or wagering. Racquet does not facilitate prize pools, entry fees, or wagering. Any side-arrangements between users are strictly between those users.
  • Coach listings. Coaches publish their own profiles and set their own pricing. Racquet does not process coach payments or guarantee the quality of any coach. All arrangements are between coach and student.

Privacy and Safety

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Racquet provides anti-abuse tools — bidirectional blocks, rate limits on cross-user contact, and reporting flows for groups, venues, coaches, and match posts. Use them. If you believe another user has violated these Terms, report the offending content from within the app.

Intellectual Property

The Racquet name, logo, app design, source code, marketing copy, and other materials we create are owned by Racquet and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-Party Services

Racquet integrates with third-party services including Apple, Google, Facebook (OAuth), Google Maps Platform (maps and geocoding), and Apple Push / Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms.

Termination

  • You may close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, posed a risk to other users, or used the Services in a way that exposes us to legal or reputational harm.
  • On termination, your right to use the Services ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, indemnity, disclaimers, dispute resolution) will survive.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICES OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE THEM AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Racquet is a tool for connecting players. We do not vet users, verify ratings, guarantee skill levels, or accept responsibility for what happens on or off the court. You play, coach, travel, and meet other users at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RACQUET AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD 100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Racquet and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Miami, Florida. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
